Earlier this summer, Eric Vigouroux made an exclusive visit to the Citroën Conservatory in Aulnay-sous-Bois, which officially closed its doors on June 30.
An immersive excursion down the aisles of the world’s largest collection of Citroën vehicles.
Accompanied by Philippe Citroën, one of André Citroën’s grandsons, he discovered the brand’s historic vehicles, including one of the autochenilles that made the first crossing of the Sahara just over 100 years ago.
It was a fascinating visit to the site, which houses more than 300 of the brand’s iconic cars, but also a very moving one, particularly when they stopped in front of the reconstitution of André Citroën’s office.
The furniture is still there, intact, with a magnificent poster showing André Citroën surrounded by the two men with whom he imagined and organized all the Croisières Citroën, Georges-Marie Haardt and Louis Audouin-Dubreuil.
