On July 1, 2024, the Croisière Verte team gathered at car preparer Vaison Sport to discover the first prototype of the four vehicles that will take part in the expedition.
In 2014, after his last Dakar rally and a 20-year career as a rally-raid driver, Éric Vigouroux decided to call it a day. His aspirations were no longer aligned with this discipline, although his passion for getting behind the wheel of various racing vehicles that he had built and adapted to achieve top performance never ceased. While he hasn’t really missed racing as such, his desire for wide-open desert spaces and discovery is ever-present. Naturally, his aspirations have turned towards a gentler approach and alternative solutions for sustainable mobility.
For several years now, the initiator of La Croisière Verte has had this ambition in his head to set off again for Africa, but this time aboard light electric intermediate vehicles. A few days ago, after months of reflection, preparation, sketches and tests… the whole Croisière Verte team gathered at the Vaison Sport workshop to discover together the first of the 4 vehicles that will take part in the expedition. A single-seater, off-road Citroën AMI Cargo.
An emotional moment for this band of AMIS… which we invite you to relive in this video.
